Craig Morgan Sets Date For 8th Annual Charity Event Benefiting The Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation

Craig Morgan has set the date, July 20,2014 for the 8th Annual Charity Event benefiting The Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation.Craig's foundation goal is to raise funds to assist foster children in Dickson County and throughout Middle Tennessee. In it's 8th year Morgan with the help of friends, motocross top celebrities and competitors and fellow country music friends will buckle up for a hair raising trails exhibition, a group trail ride and lunch, autograph session, silent craft auction and out door concert on the rolling lawn outside the War Memorial building in Dickson. This family-friendly event will kick off at 8 am Sunday, July 20th in Dickson, Tennessee. Both events are open to the public. Event tickets will go on sale this week, Friday May 9th at Craig Morgan :: Official Artist Site

The Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation serves foster children of Dickson County and through out Middle Tennessee. Craig's continuing charitable mission is to eventually build and maintain a home in Dickson County Tennessee for temporarily displaced children in Tennessee's  23rd district (5 counties) and to provide lasting funding for the home. His long term goal is to start additional Billy's Place homes around the county.The annual Craig Morgan charity weekend has raised $250,000 in the last four years in support of The Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation and other children's welfare organizations.

Country Music's Kellie Pickler Visits Canton Ohio Stark County Community High School For Concert

It was a damp mild evening Friday April 25th at Glenoak High School in Canton,Ohio. American Alum, Dancing With The Stars season 16 winner, country's female artist Kellie Pickler rolled into the Stark County community to give a concert at the high schools theater. Fans and admirers of all ages gathered at the school for an evening they would never forget. Pickler was tickled to be a part of the community as she herself is simply a small town girl, who hails from the tiny town of Albemarle, North Carolina who resides just outside of music city in Nashville these days with husband and songwriter Kyle Jacobs. Kellie Pickler's opening act rising artist and local Nashville resident Russell Dickerson performed a 45 minute set that would include songs from his debut album, with an EP coming later this year. Russell's charm and stage presence had the crowd interaction going on songs "That's My Girl" and  "Something Good" including Garth Brooks "I Got Friends In Low Places". Dickerson's musicality and guitar skills were breathless, full of energy and plain enjoyable.Russell has traveled across the country opening for some of country's hottest stars from Montgomery Gentry, Darius Rucker and Billy Currington. This won't be the last we see or hear from Russell Dickerson, his future is bright. It was 9 o' clock when Kellie was introduced, appearing in her black stiletto heels, skin tight leggings, black top, orange leather jacket and bling hugging her in all the right places. Pickler's likeliness approach is nothing more than endearing from a cheering crowd of male and female fans. Starting the hour and a half set with "Bonnie and Clyde" from her newly released album The Woman I Am. Pickler roams the stage with ease approaching fans from near and far of the stage using the entire crowd pleasing them with her earliest hits  "Best Days of Your Life", "I Wonder" and "Don't You Know Your Beautiful". It was her performance of "Selma Drye" that would resonate with the audience telling her story of her great grandmother Selma Drye who didn't own a car, washed her clothes by hand and hung them out to dry. "She didn't have a penny to her name, well she had money, she wasn't rich, she made due with what she had", Pickler explains before performing the song. "Ring For Sale" was yet another song written from personal experience and thanked her friend Pam back in Albemarle for the inspiration. At one point during the show Kellie was stopped by a high school junior who asked her to prom, her sweet demeanor was apologetic and thanked him for the offer who will be in Alabama, she thought. "Hard to keep these dates straight, I'm everywhere these days", she said during the impromptu Q and A with the audience, that is the woman she is. Pickler is as unpredictable and spontaneous as she comes. What is apparent are her country roots performing "Stop Cheating On Me" and "Where's Tammy Wynette" from her critically acclaimed third album 100 Proof. It was her performance of "Someone Somewhere Tonight" that didn't leave a dry eye in the house, the poignant song has been covered by Kenny Rogers and Pam Tillis. Pickler's band made an impact on the crowd with their high energy music skills, Dave Baker on steel guitar, Jay Gorman on bass, Kyle Sellers on piano, Gregg Lohman on drums and one fella who I can't for the life of me remember. I sure do apologize for my short term memory loss. The highly talented band of musicians rocked the crowd. Kellie's most recent single "Little Bit Gypsy" she explained came from the inspiration of her husband who calls her, her little gypsy.Others performed  "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You", "Tough", "No Cure For Crazy" and encore performance of her very first hit single "Red High Heels". Kellie Pickler may be a house hold name and very popular among country music fans, it is though Kellie as just the small town girl she is and when given opportunities to perform in a small town jumps at the opportunity. It is not an every day occurence for a big country artist to come to a town such as Canton, a high school for that matter. Canton,Ohio loved her and we may just see more of her in the future.

Bucky Covington Releases New Single BUZZIN' As An Independent Artist

Many artists today have found a place independently in country music, Bucky Covington has truly found his place, it simply fits him and is thrilled to release his brand new single BUZZIN' to country radio.BUZZIN', the lead single from Bucky's current project expected out later this year, is the perfect summer-time theme song. Written by Due West's Brad Hull and produced by Covington himself and Dale Oliver will be delivered to country radio this week via PlayMPE and CDX, it will bring Covington's fans a brand new and exciting side twist to his vocal style. After much thought and consideration decided to go the independent route last year. 49th Annual ACM's Winners and Highlights

It was country music's night to shine, though fell flat at times from lackluster  performances from Florida Georgia Line and Brett Eldredge. Aside from the less than stellar, hosts of the 49th annual Academy Awards Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan give their hosting chops something to talk about from their brotherly banter to their hair raising opening segment Bryan exclaims " this is not a head and shoulders commercial everyone". after a confetti filled room covers the audience to applauding Carrie Underwood for her Live Sound of Music telecast this past year bringing them to think what if Vince Gill and Reba McEntire for Annie Oakly and what not, and what about all these states legalizing marijuana. Aside from wanting to out do Ellen Degeneres' Oscars selfie, Shelton and Bryan take one of the two of them.
Much highlighted performances of the evening came from the duet and collaboration of Blake Shelton and Gwen Sebastian "My Eyes" Shelton's brand new single out now. This pairing sparkled. Brad Paisley performed his new single "River Bank" poolside at the Mandalay Bay Resort. It was though  Tim McGraw's performance with wife and female artist Faith Hill, McGraw's newest single "Back At Mama's" the captivating vocals were effervescent and tender. Toby Keith trail blazed his performance of "Shut Up and Hold On", the traditional country rock sound and vocals sailed smoothly as the true professional he is. Miranda Lambert's "Automatic" performance was a brand new high for the lean and trim Lambert who's year continues to flourish.
With much to be said it is the last year country music will see George Strait perform as he plans to retire before the end of the year,which leads him to win Entertainer of the Year. It isn't country without Garth Brooks who presented The Lifetime Milestone Achievement Award to legendary Merle Haggard who turns 77 today. The crowd wishes Merle a happy birthday with song. Much of the night's highlights rang true from those we grew up listening to classics and with today's new generation of country music more will see and hear a sound all too different. Country is still country when you truly listen to the musicality of a song, that is country.

Danny Gokey Returns To Music With New Single Hope In Front of Me

It's been more than three years since country artist Danny Gokey has released new music, many know Gokey who rose to fame on season 8 of American Idol. Danny went on to release his first album  My Best Days Are Ahead of Me in 2010, the album's title track first single, My Best Days Are Ahead of Me sent Gokey on a whirl wind in country music. GAC, CMT, Music Row, Roughstock and Billboard hailed Danny as one of the top artists to watch that year. Through out 2010 Gokey not only had music and a second single  I Will Not Say Goodbye on his full plate he was continually active with his foundation Sophia's Heart who remains well aboard making a difference in the lives of those who live with congenital heart disease. It's sure fitting for Gokey who has a huge heart himself for others. Throughout 2011 and 2012 Gokey's focus was more than on music it was Sophia's Heart and taking fans and audiences around the world to become a spokesperson for his own line of glass wear. Danny released the single Second Hand Heart in 2011. In 2013 Danny's great purpose came calling when he set out on writing, soon Gokey was a published author of his own book Hope In Front of Me which brings us to 2014, new music on the horizon and a brand new single written and inspired of the book, Hope In Front of Me brings a sense of hope and purpose in the lives of others. The message so deep the pure conviction in Gokey's vocals radiate hope for everyone who has ever felt the need to give up. Danny's journey is flourishing in life with so much to gain.
