Female country artist Maggie Rose was one to watch in 2013 and from the likes of country radio to Billboard, Rough Stock, media base charts and fans Rose delivered a debut album that was electrifying. Cut To Impress Rose's debut album gave us the singles "I Ain't Your Mama" and "Better" who recently released "Looking Back Now" as a third single from the album. 2014 is looking even brighter for Rose who's touring the country on new dates and new cities. Danny Gokey Returns To Music With New Single Hope In Front of Me

It's been more than three years since country artist Danny Gokey has released new music, many know Gokey who rose to fame on season 8 of American Idol. Danny went on to release his first album  My Best Days Are Ahead of Me in 2010, the album's title track first single, My Best Days Are Ahead of Me sent Gokey on a whirl wind in country music. GAC, CMT, Music Row, Roughstock and Billboard hailed Danny as one of the top artists to watch that year. Through out 2010 Gokey not only had music and a second single  I Will Not Say Goodbye on his full plate he was continually active with his foundation Sophia's Heart who remains well aboard making a difference in the lives of those who live with congenital heart disease. It's sure fitting for Gokey who has a huge heart himself for others. Throughout 2011 and 2012 Gokey's focus was more than on music it was Sophia's Heart and taking fans and audiences around the world to become a spokesperson for his own line of glass wear. Danny released the single Second Hand Heart in 2011. In 2013 Danny's great purpose came calling when he set out on writing, soon Gokey was a published author of his own book Hope In Front of Me which brings us to 2014, new music on the horizon and a brand new single written and inspired of the book, Hope In Front of Me brings a sense of hope and purpose in the lives of others. The message so deep the pure conviction in Gokey's vocals radiate hope for everyone who has ever felt the need to give up. Danny's journey is flourishing in life with so much to gain.

Substance Over Style In Country Music

Country music has it's diversity yet everyone has their thoughts and opinions on what country music is, it was no surprise to the number of fans, musicians mothers who joined the open conversation on twitter Sat. February 15th. Lovin' Lyrics Music Promotions Jennifer Smith began the conversation with nothing more than constructive criticism on what's getting played on country radio, the open topic had artist, musician Casey James' mom Debra James stating her rightful opinion, and rightfully so. Casey James fans who remain supportive continue to rise above what is getting played in the mixed up mashed up world of country radio. Where as Kellie Pickler fans stay afloat of all things in artist Kellie Pickler's continuing career, both Pickler and James poised, raw talent under played in country radio remains a mystery and as it seems to be with artists Maggie Rose, new comer Dylan Scott, Kristy Lee Cook, and independent artists Taria, Amy Rose, Jay Jolley and others who continue to work their craft of artistry and musicality. So where does this lead us to?, it is all down to the promotion of the artist and the fan bases who back them. Eric Paslay is celebrating a #1 hit with "Friday Night" and a highly anticipated debut album release this week so it is perfectly fitting for Paslay to be NRA's featured artist of the month. Excited to get this music out to fans has been a long time coming for the songwriter and entertainer. A small town country boy Paslay is appreciative of all that is happening these days. He recalls always working, writing and just honing his skills as a writer. Every day people inspire him as I can relate. Everyone and everything inspire a writer, the diversity is endless. Paslay has written for several artists in country music and now with the tables turned a bit Eric is enjoying the spotlight but don't let that think he hasn't dreamed of making it on his own. The contentment Paslay shows is honest and real, a real small town boy making his dreams come true.

CMchat Guest Eric Paslay Gives February Something To Talk About 02/3/14 Recap

It was a night country fans won't forget, +Country Music Chat ~ #CMchat+  with special guest singer, songwriter, performer Eric Paslay who just made it to #1 on the charts with the first single from his self titled debut album, "Friday Night".Paslay is more than a songwriter, he sings who brings a sense of entertainment to the country music table. Country music is full of talent and Eric has worked with several from Lady A to Eli Young Band, Little Big Town and Jake Owen to name among Neal McCoy. Host Jessica Northey sat down with Paslay for a twitter chat full of questions to community fan questions, several didn't even make it to this recap due to the fast paced chat though Northey's hard hitting, fun and light questions made it.

Q1: What was the first country music album you ever remember buying?

Eric Paslay: I believe the first country album ever bought was Garth Brooks Fences.


Q2: What made you choose country music performing/songwriting as a career?

Eric Paslay: I think country music kind of chose me. A lot of doors have opened over the years, so I keep walking through them.

Q3: When you aren't singing/performing/writing what do you like to spend your free time doing?

Eric Paslay:  I love doing handy man projects and fishing in my free time.

Q4: Do you have a mentor or someone who has helped guide your career? Best advice given and who was it?

Eric Paslay: Brian Gowan was my first mentor. He told me "move to Nashville!" He was an artist on Curb Records. Great Guy!

Q5: Is there a song that you've written that another artist performs your most proud of?

Eric Paslay: I'm proud of all the songs, but "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" is about what we do everyday as dreams.

Q7: What other singers/musicians inspire you? and why?

Eric Paslay: I've been inspired by every song I've ever turned up on the radio. I'm usually drawn to singer/songwriters though.

Q8: What is something most people would be surprised to learn about you?

Eric Paslay: Something people be surprised to know about me, I thought about being a doctor when I was a kid. I decided to heal people with the medicine of music. Ha!

Q9: Is there a song from your new album you can't wait for everyone to hear?

Eric Paslay: YES!!! I can't wait for people to hear all of the songs on the album. No cherry picking on iTunes!!! Ha

Q 10: What would you want people to leave CMchat knowing about you?

Eric Paslay: I hope that everyone knows that I'm pumped that anyone want anyone wants to know what I think! Ha

Jessica Northey: Is there anything you want to add?

Eric Paslay: Can't wait for tomorrow because my album finally comes out. Great feeling  knowin' that if fans want music they can get it.

Country Music Reigns The Grammy's

Of all award shows the Grammy's bring out the best of the best or the worst of the worst in all music genre's, so who sparkled and fizzled at the 56th annual Grammy Awards Sunday January 26th? Country music pulled the reigns,  the nights best performances came from country music itself, Keith Urban performing his newest single "Cop Car", Taylor Swift's performance of "All Too Well" received a standing ovation that left me applauding the young star, Swift's on stage presence and conviction was inviting to watch.  Icon country stars Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard and Blake Shelton giving audiences a traditional collaboration of "Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" and "Okie From Muskokie". Miranda Lambert and Billy Joel Armstrong paid tribute to the late Phil Everly who passed earlier this past year performing "When Will I Be Loved". The big highlight came from Kacey Musgraves who gave a performance so proud country music is singing on.
Hunter Hayes may have just entered new territory performing a brand new song anyone of any age can relate to. The hits and misses of the Grammy's might have been a blur if you didn't catch them in the 3 hour live telecast.
The nights winners surprised me in more ways than any other predictable awards show. I can honestly say have never heard of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis who were the night's top winners, among "Royals" singer Lorde. Country music saved the Grammy's this year. Thank you Country music!
