Sarah Darling Previews New Music Via Stage It Tuesday December 8th

Sarah Darling is most notable for her sweet melodic blues and folks country voice, deep down though is the voice of a woman coming into her own and inspiring those around her. Her optimistic, positive charm is truly refreshing among the sea of talent Nashville carries. During her 30 minute Stage It show Tuesday evening Darling previewed new material coming from her untitled brand new album to be released in the spring of 2016.  Engineering the project, Vance Powell who had a hand at engineering Chris Stapleton's critically acclaimed Traveller. Expect to hear the real Sarah Darling, her love of Paris, day dreaming, her whimsy charm, faith and grace combined. The inner strength Darling possess comes across not on musicality, on her faith as a songwriter, musician and artistry. Songs Sarah previewed for viewers were a combination of angelic wishing on dreams and stars from her opening performance of "Wish Upon A Wondering Star" to the  songs "Starry Eyes" and "Haley's Comet" all which have a common thread.  Her most touching performance on a personal note for me, "Anchor" written by song writer Tyler Flowers.  On a more country note, previewed a country inspired track titled "Cowboys Ride" and among it threw in a song with some angst. Previous albums Darling has released doesn't touch the material that will cover the new album. Each one of Darling's albums have a little of her in all the material combined, it is this though that will be all her, who she is. What separates Sarah from the rest,her fellow country music peers, she stands behind her integrity and appreciates what's given to her and along the way enjoys the adventure.

Country Music Gets Into the Holiday Spirit

Christmas doesn't seem too far off and just in time for the holidays to kick in. Country music artists Kellie Pickler, Sarah Darling and Trace Adkins are celebrating Christmas with the release of their albums and singles.  On Tuesday November 19th Sarah Darling released a brand new Christmas E.P Have A Very Merry Little Christmas Darling, this 4 track E.P includes the timeless classics "Silent Night", "The Christmas Song","I'll Be Home For Christmas", and a cover of Joni Mitchell's "River". Tis the season for Darling who sets to release a 4 track Christmas EP Tuesday November 19,2013. Have A Merry Little Christmas Darling covers the classics "The Christmas Song" ("Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire"),

"I'll Be Home For Christmas", "Silent Night" and the original Joni Mitchell "River". The new, independently released E.P is intricately crafted to Darling's "crisp, powerhouse voice", as hailed by the New York times. Collaborating in the studio with Steve Gibson, Darling feels they have created an E.P that is the best representation of herself as an artist in a holiday timepiece. Sarah Darling and Guy Penrod To Duet At 2013 Inspirational Country Music Awards

On Thursday October 24,2013 country artist,musician and songwriter Sarah Darling will join Guy Penrod  on stage at the 2013 International Country Music Awards  to perform "Knowing What I Know About Heaven", a song Sarah was moved to write in 2009 after her grandfather succombed to a serious illness. Written with Nashville writers Dave Robbens and Billy Austen Sarah released "Knowing What I Know About Heaven" on her debut album  Every Monday Morning in 2010. Later on former Gaither Vocal Band, international-known Christian recording artist Guy Penrod was compelled to record the song and was released on his top selling album Breath Deep. "Knowing What I Know About Heaven" is one of those songs anyone at any age would feel an instant connection to", Shellie Palmer of Country Music City Promotions explains.
This will mark a first for Darling and Penrod to perform together.

The 19th Annual Inspiration Country Music Awards will take place at Two Rivers Fellowship Opryland in Nashville, TN at 7 pm Thursday October 24,2013.

Rising Artists Casey James, Sarah Darling, Striking Matches, Mark Wilkinson and NAfME Salute Music Teachers

Sarah Darling, Casey James, Striking Matches and Mark Wilkinson will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2013 NAfME National In-Service Conference at the Grand Ole Opry house in Nashville on Monday October 27,2013.

James who is best known for his days on American Idol season 9 has gone on to release his self titled debut album in March of 2012, touring across the country, releasing 3 singles "Let's Don't Call It A Night", "Crying On A Suitcase" and "The Good Life". Casey's love and passion for music and music education ring true for the musician who picked up his first guitar at the age of 14. "I really appreciate what music teachers are doing for aspiring musicians", he said. "Music is very important to me and I'm glad I can be a part of NAfME's conference".

For Sarah Darling it is a huge honor who is named the 2013 recipient of NAfME's
"Stand For Music" award adds, "My 7th and 8th grade music teacher, Ms.Stephanie Rumple, was a great influence on me. It was her careful guidance and passion for the arts that started me on my musical journey. I feel like I owe her, and all of the music teachers out there who help preserve music in our schools a huge "thank -you', for all they do. This concert will hopefully resonate with them as our way of showing thanks for their work that sometimes goes unrecognized!" 

James and Darling will join their peers Striking Matches ( MTV, VH1, CMT's O Music Awards finalist) and Australian chart topper Mark Wilkinson ("Middle Ground", "All I Ever Wanted") to perform their fan-favorite songs in an exclusive intimate setting reserved for those who inspire students through music.

The concert at the Grand Ole Opry house is one of the many highlights planned for the four day NAfMe National In-Service Conference taking place from October 27th through the 30th, where the main theme centers around ways in which "Music Education Orchestrates Succcess"- in school, in work and in life.



Teachers and school administrators who attend will address the proposed re-authorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, gain new insights into how classroom teaching styles are being evaluated, attend targeted professional development workshops, and celebrate the achievements of some of the nation's most distinguished student musicians.

The 2013 NAfME National In Service Conference to Feature Guest Artists Casey James, Sarah Darling, Striking Matches and Mark Wilkinson

Casey James, Sarah Darling, Striking Matches and Mark Wilkinson will take part in the 2013 NAfME National In Service Conference this October at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center October 27th through October 30th.The event will start on Sunday the 27th with a concert at the historic Grand Ole Opry House with Casey, Sarah, Striking Matches and Mark Wilkinson. Then on Monday  the 28th at 10 am CDT Mayor Karl Dean will give the keynote address on the "Music Makes Us" initiative currently being implemented in Metro Nashville Public schools. "Music Makes Us" introduces new curriculum and technologies to improve traditional band, orchestra and choir programs. "We  are well on our way to ensuring Nashville has the best best music education programs in the country", says Mayor Dean, who is scheduled to participate in an education panel discussion immediately following his keynote address. Also on that Monday a Songwriters In The Round will take place with legendary writers Gordon Kennedy and Wayne Kirkpatrick followed by the "Give A Note Foundation Extravaganza" at the Wildhorse Saloon featuring a performance from Sarah Darling, the recipient of the 2013 NAfME "Stand For Music" award. Proceeds from tickets purchased will support NAfME's "Give A Note Foundation" which has distributed $1 million to struggling music education programs. On Tuesday the 29th at the Gaylord Opryland Resort NAfME will present a special collaborative performance of the new stage musical based on the Disney film "Tarzan", local Nashville talent will  take to center stage as members of the student body at Siegel High School (Murfreesboro, TN) join forces with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra Eden Espinosa (WICKED, Broadway "Elphaba", RENT, Broadway "Maureen" and many other talented cast members. Wednesday August 21,2013 Sarah Darling performed to a sold out online show for fans on the number one concert venue Stage It.  The down to earth musical prodigy brought fans a number of cover songs from Stevie Nicks' "Thunder Only Happens When It Rains" and "Landslide", Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and John Waite "I Ain't Missing You At All".

Sarah was absolutely genuine, excited to hear from fans, what they wanted to hear, Darling delivered with  "Home To Me" and  her  new single "Little Umbrellas".

Darling began the night's show with a brand new song titled "Wasted", the drinking song was a different change of pace for Sarah and as surprising as it was, left me quite impressed. The melodic sound hooked right on, it could very well be a run away hit on country radio today. Take a listen and let me know what you think of "Wasted".

What could be more appealing to the ears, Sarah's own material "Old T-Shirt to "The End Of The World Tonight" and "You Don't Have To Be Lonely". It wouldn't be Darling fashion without  Sarah giving much love to the fans, wanting to hear from them and all of them gave well deserved tips and they did tip well, the top 5 tippers would receive some nice prizes and all tippers of the night would receive the remix version of "Little Umbrellas". In the 40 minute show Sarah Darling sure didn't disappoint, the fans were only wanting more, Sarah tells them "We'll have to do this again sometime", and thanked the highest tippers for their support and for everyone coming online for the show, sending them blessings and a good week ahead.

Sarah Darling couldn't be more darling and gracious, her appeal to country music fans and her most loyal fan base come by the groves. Darling will be around for years to come.

A Look Back In 2012

Looking back in 2012 has been a wild ride in country music, country music fans all over go to their favorite sites for the latest news on their favorite artist and vote and request their favorite country songs. For the past couple of weeks I took over at +Country Music Chat ~ #CMchat+  to post on what are the songs of 2012, breakthrough artists of 2012 and more. You the country music fan keep busy year round and I'm paying homage to you the fan. Casey James fans have had a stellar year keeping up with the busy touring schedule Casey James has had, I say you are the light to Casey's growing career. Kip Moore fans are especially grateful, after all +Kip Moore has grown more popular with each single release, I'm talking about "Somethin' Bout A Truck" and "Beery Money" from his Up All Night Album, an album must have of 2012.  Country icon George Strait, what can I say, fans are crazy for him. You can't go wrong with a George Strait classic, I'm talking about "All My Exes Live In Texas" to " I Saw God Today". Many new artists emerged in 2012 and many who were gone for awhile came back in a big way. Gary Allan returned with a new album and a single made for the history books "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)", not only did fans see a huge transition in Allan, Gary himself took on material that will forever touch people.  +Toby Keith  took on America and on every day people. Toby brought his A game, released a slew of hits and a new album Hope On The Rocks. Toby's heart serves the all American and the USO.  I'm proud to American!!!
We can't count out our fellow female artists, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood were the most dominating female forces in 2012, Taylor Swift fans, Carrie fans did battle on the charts and in country radio along with Miranda fans, and well I must say +Reba McEntire  and +Dolly Parton served country music and their fans, from Dolly releasing her book Dream More Celebrate The Dreamer In You, an international tour, taking part in many projects and film, Joyful Noise to so much more. Reba wrapped up touring duties with George Strait, joined a number of festivals and began production on her new TV show Malibu Country. I say Reba and Dolly have had a fabulous 2012!! +Vince Gill and +Rascal Flatts fans were overcome with the achievements Vince and and the Flatts received, earning them stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame among touring throughout the year. So where does that leave our rising artists? Exclusive Interview with Sarah Darling

Sarah Darling not only gives you her heart she is heart, her warm personality simply glows. In Sarah's first Country Music City Promotions we discuss the new single, Vince Gill, The Opry, the new album, Carrie Underwood and what's next in her career.
Home To Me has become widely popular, did you expect it would do so well?
"Not at all, when I went into it I heard a song that connected with me, it felt like home. The reaction from people has gone over well. I'm so happy to bring my music to people who have that instant connection to".

How did you feel when Carrie tweeted about the song?
That was a moment I won't soon forget, it was really cool she did, for me she really meant what she said. I was on a wonderful high of excitement. When I see her I will definitely thank her for it.

Vince Gill introduced you on your live Grand Ole Opry debut, what was that like? Vince is this singer songwriter who takes command of the stage, for him to have introduced me the day I debuted at the Opry was magical, my grandfather is a huge Vince Gill fan and for him to be in the audience was a special moment for us both. Thank you for mentioning it, I will never forget this moment.

Your working on this new album in which Home To Me will be on, when can we expect a release date?
Right now I'm in the studio, the creative process of this album will be different from the last two albums. Working with Dan Huff who's worked with Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban has been great, when we first met we had this instant connection, it just fits right. We're looking towards a 2013 spring release.

 You recently performed Home To Me for the show the Bachelor, what was that like?
Well, I did a show in Whitefish, MT for an immensely popular show, I can't really say. I can say it will get out there to everyone soon.

Home To Me is this song that was so well written, I commend the songwriters for their writing it.
Thank you, Caitlyn Smith and Bobby Hamrick wrote a fantastic song and I'm happy to have record it.  
    
I can't  thank you enough for the interview Sarah, it was such a joy to talk with you today. Your so sweet and I couldn't be more proud of you and your growing success. This song has put you on the map. I'll sure be following you along the way. "Thank you Shellie, that is so nice of you to say, the hard work is well worth it", Sarah tells me in our first interview. With more to come in the near future. Darlings career is in full bloom and fans are along for the ride.
