Rising country artist Dylan Scott is set to make his live Dusty Armadillo debut in the heart of Rootstown, Ohio Saturday November 21st. Scott burst onto the Nashville music scene just a few short years ago. His debut single "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy" climbed the charts and made it onto the COUNTRY MUSIC CITY PROMOTIONS One's To Watch of 2014 list. The Louisiana born and bred country boy moved to Music City at the age of 19 to make a name for himself, and sure enough did. Scott signed to Curb Records and released his debut EP album in early 2014. Dylan's likability have caught the attention of young girls everywhere,  and I can see why by his easy on the eyes good looks and down home southern charm. Scott has a way about himself that isn't cocky, stuck on himself mojo, he's the complete opposite as I remember the first time meeting him. Season 9 American Idol alum musician/artist Casey James returned to Canton, Ohio this past week to not only perform for Ohio fans he gave his heart to Ohio. James took time to visit the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital spending his day with some very special children including Lauren Capo the mother of Sophia Capo who was born with a special heart, she was only 15 days old when she passed of CHD, Congenital Heart Defect. It was Lauren who founded The Sophia Capo Memorial Foundation in 2013 to help raise awareness on CHD's.  The show was not only a part of the 2015 Football Hall of Fame Kick-Off week, proceeds in general admission including VIP show and meet n' greet upgrades benefited the Sophia Capo Memorial Foundation at Jerzee's Sports Grille at Belden. Jana Kramer Takes Canton,Ohio To New Heights At Pro Football Hall Of Fame Ribs Burn-Off Concert

As we approach summer ending football season is beginning with festivities and events during Pro Football Hall of Fame week in North East Ohio's Stark County region of Canton,Ohio.  During the annual festivities in Canton artists and acts come from across the country to perform through out the weeks events. On the very last day of July, Thursday evening's nightly concert welcomed actress, rising country star Jana Kramer who's most notably recognized from the popular CW hit show One Tree Hill. Kramer who released her self titled debut album in 2012 received a gold certification within the year and topped the charts with her first single "Why Ya Wanna" with the follow up singles "Whiskey" and  "I Hope It Rains" all performed during the  hour and a half set, including "Goodbye California" and "I Won't Give Up" from the album. Miss Kramer's enthusiastic charm, yet potty mouth brought a wide diversity of fans young and old out to the Stark County Fair's Ribs Burn-Off to hear the voice music row calls electrifying, a twist of country and alternative rock combined. Jana's presence was known during the opening performance of "We Will Rock You" getting the crowd hyped to sing along.Early on Jana and her band joked how wonderful the air smelled of BBQ. "I'll love you forever if you can get me a slab of ribs", she explains. Kramer's alternate ego stands corrected during the performance, covering Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know",  the sultry angst suits Jana's musical styling. Among the mix of  cover tracks from Shania Twain, Gnarls Barkley and Garth Brooks it was however the cover of Lorde's "Royals" that truly struck a cord with fans, myself included. The deeply dark beautifully written song broke records earlier this year becoming the fastest rising single to date in Billboard history. Jana's cover of "Royals" blew all exception out the window for the budding country star who masterfully sang it to Lorde vocally. Jokingly enough someone from the audience brought Kramer her wish of some delicious ribs to her. "Mmm, these are so good, thank you for these", she said. Jana jokingly laughs, "Should I give the band some?" The standing crowd encourages her and through out the set pauses to feed her fellow guitarists. At one moment during the show Kramer  receives the loudest boo from the crowd explaining she's a Michigander, originally from Michigan moved to LA when first starting out in her career. "I'm just a mid west girl, I was like a fish out of water, I don't wear high heels on the beach", she explains. "I'll always be a mid west girl". The most enduring moment through out the set Jana taking selfies with the crowd of fans showing love in all directions. "On this next song I want all of you to pull out your phones and put it on reverse mode, the side you see yourself. This song means so much and really puts things in perspective. This is LOVE  out now at radio."  Giving fan love through the standing crowd, lights were flashing and smiles grinning. Every fan wanted their moment with Jana. Exciting enough Kramer announced her brand new album will soon be released, looking at a possible late September early October release. Kramer previewed several to be included on the sophomore album performing "Don't Touch My Radio", "Pop That Bottle" and "All That I've Got To Give". Leaving the show on a high note Kramer's encore performance of her debut single "Why Ya Wanna" had the crowd singing every note every word. "You ROCK Canton,Ohio!", she exclaims. "I want to see all your beautiful love, I want to meet you I'll be signing after the show."  Jana Kramer certainly rocked Canton,Ohio in style and in flare wearing a brightly pink top,leopard print spanx with her rockin' heel boots. Kramer didn't disappoint and gained new fans across North East Ohio.

Country Music's Kellie Pickler Visits Canton Ohio Stark County Community High School For Concert

It was a damp mild evening Friday April 25th at Glenoak High School in Canton,Ohio. American Alum, Dancing With The Stars season 16 winner, country's female artist Kellie Pickler rolled into the Stark County community to give a concert at the high schools theater. Fans and admirers of all ages gathered at the school for an evening they would never forget. Pickler was tickled to be a part of the community as she herself is simply a small town girl, who hails from the tiny town of Albemarle, North Carolina who resides just outside of music city in Nashville these days with husband and songwriter Kyle Jacobs. Kellie Pickler's opening act rising artist and local Nashville resident Russell Dickerson performed a 45 minute set that would include songs from his debut album, with an EP coming later this year. Russell's charm and stage presence had the crowd interaction going on songs "That's My Girl" and  "Something Good" including Garth Brooks "I Got Friends In Low Places". Dickerson's musicality and guitar skills were breathless, full of energy and plain enjoyable.Russell has traveled across the country opening for some of country's hottest stars from Montgomery Gentry, Darius Rucker and Billy Currington. This won't be the last we see or hear from Russell Dickerson, his future is bright. It was 9 o' clock when Kellie was introduced, appearing in her black stiletto heels, skin tight leggings, black top, orange leather jacket and bling hugging her in all the right places. Pickler's likeliness approach is nothing more than endearing from a cheering crowd of male and female fans. Starting the hour and a half set with "Bonnie and Clyde" from her newly released album The Woman I Am. Pickler roams the stage with ease approaching fans from near and far of the stage using the entire crowd pleasing them with her earliest hits  "Best Days of Your Life", "I Wonder" and "Don't You Know Your Beautiful". It was her performance of "Selma Drye" that would resonate with the audience telling her story of her great grandmother Selma Drye who didn't own a car, washed her clothes by hand and hung them out to dry. "She didn't have a penny to her name, well she had money, she wasn't rich, she made due with what she had", Pickler explains before performing the song. "Ring For Sale" was yet another song written from personal experience and thanked her friend Pam back in Albemarle for the inspiration. At one point during the show Kellie was stopped by a high school junior who asked her to prom, her sweet demeanor was apologetic and thanked him for the offer who will be in Alabama, she thought. "Hard to keep these dates straight, I'm everywhere these days", she said during the impromptu Q and A with the audience, that is the woman she is. Pickler is as unpredictable and spontaneous as she comes. What is apparent are her country roots performing "Stop Cheating On Me" and "Where's Tammy Wynette" from her critically acclaimed third album 100 Proof. It was her performance of "Someone Somewhere Tonight" that didn't leave a dry eye in the house, the poignant song has been covered by Kenny Rogers and Pam Tillis. Pickler's band made an impact on the crowd with their high energy music skills, Dave Baker on steel guitar, Jay Gorman on bass, Kyle Sellers on piano, Gregg Lohman on drums and one fella who I can't for the life of me remember. I sure do apologize for my short term memory loss. The highly talented band of musicians rocked the crowd. Kellie's most recent single "Little Bit Gypsy" she explained came from the inspiration of her husband who calls her, her little gypsy.Others performed  "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You", "Tough", "No Cure For Crazy" and encore performance of her very first hit single "Red High Heels". Kellie Pickler may be a house hold name and very popular among country music fans, it is though Kellie as just the small town girl she is and when given opportunities to perform in a small town jumps at the opportunity. It is not an every day occurence for a big country artist to come to a town such as Canton, a high school for that matter. Canton,Ohio loved her and we may just see more of her in the future.

North East Ohio Foundation of Patriotism Craig Morgan Charity Concert

On Friday May 3,2013 the North East Ohio community came together to raise more than $7,000 for the North East Ohio Foundation of Patriotism for our serving and non serving military in part of the 94.9FM WQMX Your Station! Your Country! charity concert series. Fellow veteran and country artist Craig Morgan and more than 170 fans gathered at the Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown, Ohio  that day to support our troops and military. The continuing support and effortless Patriotism Morgan displays shines and as for myself  continue to do my part to support our military and troops. As little as five dollars or even ten dollar donations to support our troops, serving, non serving,hospitalized and paralyzed veterans makes a difference. 94.9 radio personality Ken Steele presented the $7,795.00 over sized check to the fellow Marines and Army officials who attended.


Fans were overly pumped for the night's entertainment coming from Morgan himself who performed more of his most popular single songs to date from "International Harvester", "That's What I Love About Sundays", "This Ain't Nothing" "Little Bit of Life", "Red Neck Yacht Club" "This Ole Boy" and to his current single on radio now "More Trucks Than Cars". Of the hour long acoustic show Morgan delivered performance after performance, fans were at a fever pitch high of excitement and would have to admit gave a few hollers myself. The highlights of the night's performances came from new material Craig is currently working on in Nashville. Craig explains " how many believe in our own right to own a weapon and the bible, trucks, and there is a lot of them out there tonight, well this is a song we were suppose to write with another guy and when we did sit down with him, well, he kept on telling us we were crazy, calling us crazy, this is the song "They Think We're Crazy", we wrote this song just for him". An up tempo country feel kind of song, talking bout bibles, trucks and a cold pack, this is one country song you'll feel right down to your toes. "They Think We're Crazy" surely fits the country music mold and fans would agree would make a great single song release to country radio. Morgan had yet one more new song to share with the crowd who wanted their opinion as he is considering it to be a new released single called "Wake Up Loving You". Craig's ballad rearing vocals were chilling to the bone on this love song,giving fans more reason to scream with excitement, I say we have a winner.

Though I left, the cheers we're loudly apparent fans wanted more, I await to hear Morgan giving his thank you's to everyone who came out for the evening to support a great cause. We all can make a difference.

The Heart of Ohio For Casey James

Casey James returns to Ohio this week for Musica in downtown Akron a live event held yearly. What's a surprise to me is how loved Casey is here, the support and loyality is truly wonderful. My hometown of Hartville and surrounding areas, Canton and Akron have embraced James since his first gig last August for the North Canton Main Street Festival. James' heart lives here, I'm not hearing any complaints. The Canton Repository's Dan Kane recently chatted with Casey, I must say Kane and James are a match made in heaven.
