A Look Back In 2012

Looking back in 2012 has been a wild ride in country music, country music fans all over go to their favorite sites for the latest news on their favorite artist and vote and request their favorite country songs. For the past couple of weeks I took over at +Country Music Chat ~ #CMchat+  to post on what are the songs of 2012, breakthrough artists of 2012 and more. You the country music fan keep busy year round and I'm paying homage to you the fan. Casey James fans have had a stellar year keeping up with the busy touring schedule Casey James has had, I say you are the light to Casey's growing career. Kip Moore fans are especially grateful, after all +Kip Moore has grown more popular with each single release, I'm talking about "Somethin' Bout A Truck" and "Beery Money" from his Up All Night Album, an album must have of 2012.  Country icon George Strait, what can I say, fans are crazy for him. You can't go wrong with a George Strait classic, I'm talking about "All My Exes Live In Texas" to " I Saw God Today". Many new artists emerged in 2012 and many who were gone for awhile came back in a big way. Gary Allan returned with a new album and a single made for the history books "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)", not only did fans see a huge transition in Allan, Gary himself took on material that will forever touch people.  +Toby Keith  took on America and on every day people. Toby brought his A game, released a slew of hits and a new album Hope On The Rocks. Toby's heart serves the all American and the USO.  I'm proud to American!!!
We can't count out our fellow female artists, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood were the most dominating female forces in 2012, Taylor Swift fans, Carrie fans did battle on the charts and in country radio along with Miranda fans, and well I must say +Reba McEntire  and +Dolly Parton served country music and their fans, from Dolly releasing her book Dream More Celebrate The Dreamer In You, an international tour, taking part in many projects and film, Joyful Noise to so much more. Reba wrapped up touring duties with George Strait, joined a number of festivals and began production on her new TV show Malibu Country. I say Reba and Dolly have had a fabulous 2012!! +Vince Gill and +Rascal Flatts fans were overcome with the achievements Vince and and the Flatts received, earning them stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame among touring throughout the year. So where does that leave our rising artists? Country Music City Promotions Albums of 2011

Dolly Parton "Better Day"
Infused of traditional country music through and through from the prolific singer/songwriter. All 12 tracks were written by Parton, each song leaps off by bounds of joy, happiness and positivity. The album truly shows us Dolly Parton's true self. Each track specifically will have you listening wide open. The first track "In The Mean Time" makes the album what it is to it's powerful track and single "Together You & I". The iconic Parton is really all that and more on the track that best describes her best "Country Is As Country Does". There's a whole lot of country going on! Enjoy the ride!

Luke Bryan "Tailgates & Tanlines"
From the big hit "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" to "I Don't Want This Night To End" , Tailgates & Tanlines" hits all the right notes giving this album real country flare and appeal. Luke Bryan's southern twang will have you're heart melting on tracks such as "I Knew You That Way" and "I Know You're Gonna Be There" giving you the tender, compassionate side of Luke Bryan. Other tracks on the album include "You Don't Know Jack" and "Harvest Time" that which describe Bryan as the most genuine down to earth guy who grew up in rurual Georgia.  Luke Bryan is no flash in the pan, he gives his fans his heart and it shows on "Taligates & Tanlines".

Sunny Sweeney "Concrete"
A force to be reckoned with, Sunny Sweeney, the raw and true gritty voice sums up this album. A new comer to the Nashville scene in 2011 came from Longview, Texas. The play hard work hard kind of gal has it going for herself and this album shows it from the first hit single "From A Table Away" to the latest single "Drink Myself Single". Sunny may be all sunshine and smiles, but don't let that fool you, this new country goddess is good as golden and is proven to stick around in country music.

Vince Gill "Guitar Slinger"
It's not country music without Vince Gill, the blues, country christian roots make the man, a true humanitarian. "Threaten Me With Heaven" will have you singing praises to the darkened trouble of "Billy Paul" in which Vince's youngest daughter joins in, in chorus. "The Lady Sings The Blues" is without a doubt contagious, infectous and just might have you singing the blues. The lead off track Guitar Slinger sets the album as Gill's biggest album to date. Vince Gill fans will fall in love all over again on this album. Music hasn't died and Vince Gill is still on the journey in over more than a decade in country music.

On her 11th studio album Martina McBride truly soars on "One Night" which opens the album beautifully, taking you on a romantic joyful ride to the most stiring life lessons which McBride is no stranger to. The hit single "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" is just that in which navigates those who deal and live with cancer. I'm a strong believer anyone can over achieve and survive the obstacles. In "Teenage Daughters" McBride describes best teenagers will be just teenagers in any scenario. The album doesn't stop there,on the track "Marry Me" featuring Train's Pat Monahan, man meets woman, it's that feeling of falling in love at first sight making you feel absolutely beautiful inside and out. Martina McBride isn't slowing down, and eleven proves to be her best album to date. The album will simply have you singing along without skipping a single track,it's that well produced musically, visually and artistically.

In This Country, Country Music Is Wide

Nashville's newcomers have new material on the frontburner, Kevin Fowler's "That Girl" and Kip Moore's "Somethin' Bout A Truck". These men of country music are downright enjoyable,it's hard not to fall in love with their southern twang. There's nothing better than listening to a few good men.
See Kip's "Somethin' Bout A Truck" at CMT Music and hear Kevin Fowler's "That Girl" on country radio. These newcomers have a lot going on these days and are happy to be where they are.
Visit Nashville Country Club to vote and rate their songs.

In other country music news, Miranda Lambert is ready to release her 4th studio album "Four The Record",her current single on radio "Baggage Claim" will surely have you singing along. This grity dity might have you thinking twice who you would leave at a baggage claim or simply wanting to leave your very own excess baggage off somewhere.

Vince Gill has recently released his 18th studio album "Guitar Slinger" on MCA Nashville, see an acoustic version of Vince's new single "Threaten Me With Heaven" at CMT Music On The Streets with Suzanne Alexander.

Also new this week is Toby Keith's "Clancy's Tavern".
The single "Made In America" pays homeage to the USO,every man serving our country. Semper Fi. God Bless our men and women serving.

I LOVE MY COUNTRY!!!

Vince Gill Guitar Slinger

Singer songwriter Vince Gill has been a fixture in country music for as long as I can remember, he's brought a  true sensibility to real country music from his bluesy traditional country sound . Not one who's overbearing and always has a story to tell from a place many would not feel comfortable talking about, religion. It's not just practice what you preach and not in your face, Vince gives words of wisdom letting the world ponder the age old question "What Would God Do?"  On Vince's new studio release album Guitar Slinger in stores now Vince continues to take the world on a journey, the new single from the album "Threaten Me With Heaven" is a story many would relate to and gives real hope to people. Guitar Slinger will take you back to fonder memories when the world was a much better place to live in. The album gives you that sense of calmness and clarity, it's good to know where to turn when life get's tough, through a Vince Gill song.
