Kellie Pickler's 100 Proof made it's debut Billboard 200 at number 7 selling 27,000 copies it's first week. When Pickler recieved the news a proud feeling set in even in these tough economic times, she's happy it's doing well. 100 Proof sets the record straight and that is simply what country music is. Critics have hailed 100 Proof  album of 2012. Set aside, Pickler's two previous albums both landed on the charts well above number ten and spawned the mega hits "I Wonder" and "Best Days Of Your Life", it still goes to show other singles did well for Pickler "Red High Heels" and "Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind". It has appeared Reba died earlier on in the week, what happened to be quite false, a sham. The death hoax had fans in a panic, rest assured Reba is safe and very much healthy. Reba took to twitter giving you all a sigh of relief and stated she was with her son Shelby who just won a race, what a proud mama Reba is. In other news, Reba's returning to television in the next fall season, her program Country Malibu has been picked up from ABC, that's right fans Reba is returning to tv.

On Sunday January 28th the very happily blessed Danny Gokey married the beautiful Leyicet Peralta in Florida, the couple exchanged vows among 100 family and friends. Congratulations Danny and Leyicet.

On Sunday February 5th Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton are heading to the Superbowl for the pre-game festivities, the duo will perform a beautiful rendition of "America The Beautiful". In country music news this week, Carrie Underwood announces her first single release from her up and coming fourth studio album to hit shelves this spring. Hear that Carrie fans!!, new music for you. The new single titled "Good Girl" is set to be released to radio February 23rd, Underwood's excited for the new       approach in her music.

Rascal Flatts is ready for change or least that is the album's name, Changed is the Flatt's seventh studio album,is it really? I'm still reeling over the last album and it's mega hit singles "Easy", "I Won't Let Go" and "Why Wait". Through the country grapevines the first single release "Banjo" is getting some buzz around town, I'm looking foward to this.

Lauren Alania caused quite a stir this week firing back at a staff of employee's in a hotel. Sometimes it's good to be tough.

Lady Antebellum's Own The Night 2012 Tour is about sold out, what a surprise and this tour hasn't even kicked off yet. Huge hugs to Lady A. fans out there. Lady A. was evidently shocked with the news. It's a big year for Lady A.

Garth Brooks spent time in court this week in what proved to be a victory in honor of his late mother. A grand jury declared Brooks' local Oklahoma hospital to return $500.000 donation that was meant for building a woman's health center in honor of Garth's late mother who passed from cancer in 1999, it was the hospital that did not do so upon the donation, therefor the donated money is in fact to be returned to Brooks.

Country music is pure and honest soul,dirty to the core and although Johnny Solinger is better known as the front man of Skid Row, this man has soul and depth clear down to his toes. Solinger has recieved rave reviews from critics alike on country music row, this feat is astounding to my ears, he's turned me into a real fan. Success of a hard workin' hard rockin' man knows a thing or two of  honky tonk outlaw and rebel country music, put a gibson guitar in Solinger's hands and well get a sound that any Hank Jr. or Merle Haggard fan would love. Johnny's more than an artist and performer, he can cook; give him an apron he'll whip up his favorite mexican dish. Johnny Solinger has quite a bit on his plate, I don't hear any complaints.  Word has it Shy Blakeman has two albums to his credits,one who hasn't heard of Shy Blakeman must be hiding under a rock.  Blakeman's recent album "Long Distance Man" is what I call a real labor of love album, one that will make it into my albums collection soon.  Blakeman is an old soul at heart and wise beyond his years. What folks may not know Shy get's a little cozy with the reigning female country queen Miranda Lambert on the song "Crying In Your Sleep" an honest to goodness feel good song. Blakeman gives his soul to his music and it will hit you like a thunderbolt,watch out cause Shy Blakeman is cruising along. What else is there?, Shy was once a Nashville Star contestant, I can't place it since I did watch the program. It'll come back to me eventually. Country Music City Promotions 100 Proof Review

Kellie Pickler's third studio release 100 Proof is what I call homage to what country music is, banjo,fiddle,steel guitar,and just plain dirty good. It's the traditional sound I grew up on and still love these days. The opening track "Where's Tammy Wynette" truly reminds us of the days of the great female artist of country music, Tammy Wynette. Where's Tammy Wynette builds the albums core for other tracks to follow, on the track "Unlock That Honky Tonk" oozes raw grit and gusto, I hear a hit single, country radio listen up!! the song will blow the roof off in country music. "The Little House On The Highway" takes you back and reminds you of those good ole days when life was easy and carefree, you'll be dancing around the room. "Stop Cheatin' On Me On" sounds like a woman scorned, but that's just country music, Pickler gives it straight. "Tough" the first single release is autobiographical to Kellie's real life of living tough, we need to be tough when life calls us to be.On the ballad tracks "Long As I Never See You Again", "100 Proof", "Mother's Day" and "The Letter (To Daddy)" are reflections of who Kellie Pickler is and the woman she's become, Pickler is more than tough around the edges she's truly passionate at heart,give her your heart she'll hold it close to her. Although guarded Kellie Pickler doesn't stray from her uncensored fiesty self. Kellie Pickler is just who she is,purely authentic. Kellie Pickler's story continues to unfold and we hear more of Kellie on the track "Rockaway (The Rockin' Chair Song)". It is songs like these that will have you pulling out old eight tracks and vinyl's of artists past. 100 Proof will clearly make it into the history charts and the hearts of her fans.
