Luke Bryan's southern twang will have you're heart melting on tracks such as "I Knew You That Way" and "I Know You're Gonna Be There" giving you the tender,compassionate side of Luke Bryan. Other tracks on the album include "You Don't Know Jack" and "Harvest Time" that which describe Bryan as the most genuine down to earth guy who grew up in rurual Georgia.  Luke Bryan is no flash in the pan, he gives his fans his heart and it shows on "Taligates & Tanlines".

 A force to be reckoned with, Sunny Sweeney, the raw and true gritty voice sums up this album. A new comer to the Nashville scene in 2011 came from Longview, Texas. The play hard work hard kind of gal has it going for herself and this album shows it from the first hit single "From A Table Away" to the latest single "Drink Myself Single". Sunny may be all sunshine and smiles,but don't let that fool you, this new country goddess is good as golden and is proven to stick around in country music.

Vince Gill "Guitar Slinger"  

 It's not country music without Vince Gill, the blues, country christian roots make the man, a true humanitarian. "Threaten Me With Heaven" will have you singing praises to the darkened trouble of "Billy Paul" in which Vince's youngest daughter joins in, in chorus. "The Lady Sings The Blues" is without a doubt contagious,infectous and just might have you singing the blues. The lead off track Guitar Slinger sets the album as Gill's biggest album to date. Vince Gill fans will fall in love all over again on this album. Music hasn't died and Vince Gill is still on the journey in over more than a decade in country music.

On her 11th studio album Martina McBride truly soars on "One Night" which opens the album beautifully,taking you on a romantic joyful ride to the most stiring life lessons which McBride is no stranger to. What do Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood have in common? These three ladies of country music have had a big year in 2011. Despite being out the spotlight for most of 2011, Carrie Underwood still sparkled on red carpet arrivals for many events and impressed fans on the collaborative efforts on Brad Paisley's latest album with the song "Remind Me"sending heatwaves through radio airplay being the most played song of 2011 and if that wasn't enough Carrie can add most beautiful to the list,making her Country's Most Beautiful Woman,and that's not all word has it Carrie has finished recording her 4th studio album and is expected for a 2012 release.
Miranda Lambert is on fire these days and what a year it's been, she's country music's reigning CMA Female Vocalist, Miranda even partnered with good friends Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley; the trio is better known as the Pistol Annies. The Annies debuted their album and went number 1 in it's first week release. Better yet Miranda tied the knot to the one and only Blake Shelton. This duo is the "IT"couple of country music these days,fans can't get enough of Miranda and Blake,and for the record Miranda released her 4th studio released album "Four The Record". I'd say Lambert-Shelton has a lot to be smiling about these days.
The unstoppable Taylor Swift made the books in 2011 as Entertainer of The Year and Billboard's Artist of the Year what a feat for the 22 yr.old. Swift toured the world relentlessly giving back to the fans and giving what she gives best, an electrifying performance every night to sold out crowds. That is not all, Taylor began writing for her next album throughout the crazy year of touring, which Swift is describing and hinting to fans as her most personal to date. Miss Swift is truly evolving into a beautiful woman before our eyes and ears, as we once remember Taylor's first #1 hit "Tim McGraw" in 2006.
Miranda, Carrie and Taylor will splash into 2012 on a big note and fans of these ladies will want to catch all the action.

One of the original ladies of country music, Dolly Parton has teamed up with Oscar nominee, rap & R&B queen, and cover girl spokesperson Queen Latifah for the new film Joyful Noise set to be released

January 13,2012. The film is set in the small town of Pacashau, Georgia and it's church choir. Joyful Noise will not only have you laughing in your seat you'll want to sing along and cheer on for the slapstick jokes from these funny ladies of music and film. It's been long over due for the country music icon,although Dolly will never see herself in that role,in her new role however will have you rooting for her all over again.

The Year In Country Music 2011



As we come to a close on 2011 let's look back on what was the best year ever in country music. Jason Aldean is rising to country music fame,but don't let that fool you, the My Kinda Party artist is soaking in what was the best year ever for him, his family and band. Winner of CMA's album of the year and musicial event of the year and ACA winner of album of the year. The party is just getting started, Aldean will ring in the new year on his first headling tour.2012 will prove to be another fantastic year for Jason Aldean and fans. Let's get the party started!

Taylor Swift keeps breaking charts and breaking hearts,not figurativly speaking. Swift still shows us how to run a business,this savy business woman released her own fragrance Wonderstruck, toured the world and still manages to keep a level head through it all. It's no wonder she's CMA's entertainer of the year and Billboards Artist of the year.This birthday girl will have a lot to celebrate on her 22nd birthday December 13th. In 2012 Ms. Swift will bring new music to her fans and has recently released a new song titled "Ours", a video for the song has recently been released to all major outlets. Taylor is all smiles these days.

Kellie Pickler, she's caught the eye of many and it shows, the recent newlywed, Mrs. Jacobs has been on the radar on many Christmas specials this holiday season and landed a role on the CW's 90210.
Picker-Jacobs is releasing her highly anticipated 3rd album January 24,2012 "100 Proof" and 2012 will be the year of the pickle. Rodney Atkins has found the beaten path in his career,the take the back road artist has flourshed musically and artistically in 2011. Atkins' music has speaken volumes to his fans, Farmer's Daughter, If Your Going Through Hell and Take The Back Road have all made an impact on those who follow the artist and his music.

Martina McBride and pro-active Breast Cancer Supporter released her 11th studio recorded album this year,she's been an embassador and leader for many beyond her music. Her voice is powerful for so much more. That true sense of self truly shows.


All of these artists and more,one I would not leave out, Toby Keith,the Red Solo Cup USO supporter and musician has paved the wave throughout the years. Keith is very much so our country music artist of the decade.

Jason Aldean has had a phenominal year in music and in touring, the "My Kinda Party" tour begins January 20,2012 in Greenville, South Carolina at the Bi Lo Center, Aldean was quick to announce his special surprise invitation, to have American Idol runner-up Lauren Alania to join him on tour in 2012, Alania accepted. The nominations were annnouced during the live telecast of the Grammy Nominations Concert Wednesday November 30th. Still there's no shortage of music these days,however so many you just want to hear again and when you do it's very little of.  I get the notion how contempary and moderen country music is or has become. Yes,traditional country music is coming back from the likes of Brantely Gilbert, Justin Moore, Eric Church, and Kellie Pickler, yet you just would love to hear a powerful honkey tonk, banjo playing traditonal to the core song such as Conway Twitty's "Hello Darlin".  It's a day of thanks, being grateful and feeling blessed and yeah! a huge feast until you fall asleep watching football in your recliner. Black Friday sales start early, stores opening their doors before midnight for those off the wall deals. As I see things holidays are much more materialized than in past year's. Where are the traditions ,the family times together?, this is what the  holidays are really about,what Jesus has done for us,feeling and being thankful for the love we have in our hearts and filling our spirits with joy and excitement. I've taken the time to really let things soak in and embrace Thanksgiving, giving my love to those who've made an impact and have inspired me, I'm grateful and ever thankful. It's highly unlikely Taylor Swift will be slowing down any time soon. This young,vibrant most sought after country music darling keeps on shining, in previous weeks Miss Swift was named entertainer of the year and recently crowned artist of the year. With a fragance line, hallmark deal, the face of Cover Girl among her music career much more is in store for Taylor. In 2012 Taylor will come animated in the animated film The Lorax and will begin on a new album. Taylor Swift is a savy buisness woman with the right balance of normalcy it's not wonder people are inspired by her and not only from her country music peers, the general public love this girl and how can you not? Taylor Swift will continue to shine in all avenues of life. Taylor is the exception to the rule, you can never be too young or too old to rock out, live free.

Musicans On Call

Kellie Pickler and Casey James recently sat down with The Nashville Country Club and discussed their role on helping Musicans On Call which is an organization for children who battle cancer. This is the 4th year of Musicans on Call and helps raise funds for children and their families who live with the battle of cancer. Both Kellie and Casey have many endeavors to fullfill musicially and professionally coming up in the next couple of months. These two wonderfully talented people will have much to celebrate coming up in the new year. It's been more than 5 years since Faith Hill has released an album, well, the time has come, in 2012 Faith will release a brand new album, a new single has recently been released to radio and digitally online , the new single "Come Home" is fitting for this beautifully talented woman. Come Home isn't another sappy ballad more so a song anyone can be proud of in this day and age. Have you heard the song? Tell me what you think.
How can you not talk about Faith Hill? It is purely obvious Faith is more than just a country music star, she's a mom to three girls and wife to Tim McGraw. I'd say Faith Hill has a pretty charmed life,but don't let that fool you. Country music is at it's finest these days with the likes of Kellie Pickler, Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean, to name a few  stars in country music,one thing for sure we can't count out those who made the waves early on when country music began. Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, June Carter,Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, even Loretta Lynn. There will never be a shortage from the country crop where as we're hearing from some great new comers on the country music scene, Sunny Sweeney has a real authenticity to her appeal, it very much so reminds me of her fellow counterpart Loretta Lynn; that southern twang is down right pleasurable. An album must have on my wish list this year.
Another talent making it bright on music row new comer Sonia Leigh who I'm reading up on,I'm  really diving in getting to know more on her. You never know who's going to appear or even to be mentioned  in Country Weekly Magazine. More so these days George Straight has appeared more on the cover than an artist to date. What's so fascinating about this man?, I ask myself this question often. The one and only answer,the songs,there well written. Any George Straight song ever heard I can pin point the one's I grew up listening to,"Check Yes Or No", "I Cross My Heart", and" All My Ex's Live In Texas"; by far though the one's I have truly fell in love with "River Of Love" and "I Saw God Today", icon, yes!! Country Weekly brings great taste of country music to my finger tips,it's no wonder I read from cover to cover. My true passion for country music,well,shall I say all music is my guilties pleasure.

In times like these everyone has the freedom to speak, and one man who doesn't hold back speaks rightfully true is country music legend Hank Williams Jr.,most recently talked about at Taste of Country. I really get it, don't throw me under the bus as I agree with Williams statement. Economic times are tough on everyone,people loosing jobs,let alone jobs are scarce. Although William's Monday Night Football  anthem has been pulled,there will still be football regardless. Former American Idol contestant Casey James has been performing for most of his life,he's paid his dues and now ready to embark on his country music career. I was lucky enough to see Casey perform live at the North Canton Main Street Festival in North Canton,Ohio this past August and I must say a performer he really is.
