Jerrod Niemann is beyond a talented artist, the singer songwriter has penned material with writers Jamey Johnson, Lee Brice and Randy Houser all who have found success in country music. Niemann spent his Wednesday afternoon online live to answer fans questions and perform new material from his sophomore album Free The Music including hits from his first album Judge Jerrod and The Hung Jury. Jerrod spoke candidly how this new album came together and it's research. "Obviously, I was influenced to interpret horns, harmonica and flute on this album", Niemann explains to fans. From one song performed " Get On Up" has those horns, harmonica and flute sound, this song people will relate to,it comes across in the lyrics. "What Do You Want From Me" is a fan favorite Niemann performed discussing how autobiographical it is, the lessons you learn from an ex-girlfriend. Fans asked Niemann who inspires him, his biggest influence, favorite holiday, dream collaborations and more. On Free The Music Colbie Caillat joins Jerrod in one callaboration, "she has this aura about her" Niemann explains, as most of my dream collaborations have passed on,although I won't count out Lee Brice, Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser who I have collaborated with and will in the future. Lefty Frizell he's by far my biggest influence, Jerrod says with a grin. "Christmas seems to be the one holiday where people come together,I'm away so often that when Christmas comes I'm happy to be home, it's a magical time of year, I really like the Christmas season",he tells fans. Aside from performing and writing songs Jerrod loves to hang out on his tour bus with the band and watch sports, "I'm a big sports fan", Neimann enthusiastically explains. His eyes lit up during the live session when it came to discussing the new album and how different this album is from it's first. "There are three versions of this album, disc, vinyl and digital album. I want to really get this out to the fans and broad audience.  One question a fan asked Niemann, what advice he would give to aspiring musicians and writers truly spoke to me, as I'm a writer myself. "Music is art, there are no rules, learn your fundamentals, what you know and be yourself", he said. Music is art, yes it is, there is that sense of freedom when it comes to writing, it's untamed I tell people, always be yourself and know what you write about,it's connecting with your audience. Speaking from my own perspective I had to add that piece folks. A quote Niemann lives by, "We don't choose music, it chooses us", and admits he couldn't remember the writer of the quote. Another question came up regarding the Blake Shelton Cruise in October, Jerrod smiles and says "I've never been on a cruise, it's going to be fun, it will take time to recover from once it's all done with". A fan favorite question I like to add are the bands Niemann enjoys listening to, "I enjoy all bands, just watched a WallFlower show last night". Niemann plugs fellow artists and collaborators Lee Brice and Jamey Johnson he tells fans, "Definately check out Lee Brice's "Hard To Love" and Jamey Johnson who has a new album coming out, you'll want to check it out". Other songs chosen to perform during the live chat and session "Lover Lover", "One More Drinking Song" and "Only God Could Love You More" from this new album. Jerrod  will be performing and doing live bar and clubs for the remainder of 2012 and to continue promoting the new album in stores now. Jerrod will take time of during the Christmas season.
